Design variants
Mark JF Hudson
Three variants of the chosen direction, with the 27 August review applied. Each opens in a new tab.
A1Letterbox
The whole photograph on a black stage, nothing cropped. One column, centred.

A2Scale
A re-cropped wide hero and the largest type. The most direct answer to legibility.

A3Editorial
Title beside the hero, works in a measured two-up rhythm. Closest to a printed catalogue.

Applied to all three
- Nav is Home, Excavations, Figurations, About, Exhibitions, Contact.
- The home page shows a selection of recent work, not the full catalogue.
- Work titles and their material, date and dimensions are pure white and much larger — roughly twice the previous size at 1920×1080.
- Text scales with the screen rather than sitting at a fixed size.
- The hero photograph is never cropped, and no image is ever shown larger than the original file.
- An arrow marks that there is more below the fold, and “click image to see more” is said once rather than on every piece.
Excavations, Figurations, the individual work pages, About, Exhibitions and Contact are still being built. The links to them will not work yet.
