Mark Hudson in the studio

About

Mark Hudson sculpts in stone and other materials in Dorset and at the Portland Sculpture & Quarry Trust. Most of his stone works are created by direct carving, an improvisatory and intuitive process – without an initial model or plan – which allows something to emerge in response to the stone and to preconscious connections. Other work, from wax or clay, is cast into bronze or bronze resin.

Mark published a historical novel in 2025 about survival and acceptance, set in the year 409, when the west Roman Empire was collapsing. It is available as a paperback, an ebook and an audio book.
